One year ahead of the election, I filed at the State Board of Elections in Annapolis to be on the ballot for House of Delegates from District 16 in 2026. I’m excited about earning your vote and continuing to serve, and I need your help to continue this work.

Serving as your Delegate for District 16 has been one of my dreams come true. Representing our district in the House of Delegates has been the greatest honor of my life, since I became a US citizen, but it’s not about me. Every day, I have the privilege of making sure your voices are heard and taking the votes that shape our future.

I first witnessed the transformative power of the Maryland General Assembly as a college intern, seeing our state take on big challenges and fight for our values, and then continued as a General Assembly staff member for seven years. Now, casting those votes on the House floor as a legislator has been even more meaningful.

I have been doing the work:

     - Working on the Health and Government Operations Committee to make healthcare more accessible, affordable, and fair.

     - Introducing bills focused on healthcare transparency, protections for immigrant workers, youth sports safety, and fair insurance practices.
     - Passing legislation in my first legislation session, which Governor Wes Moore signed into law, banning unfair insurance clauses that allowed companies to deny mental health and addiction treatment.
    - Advancing important changes to support federal workers from attacks by Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Since the legislative session that ended in April, I have been talking with constituents throughout District 16. I have heard directly from neighbors about rising housing costs, crowded schools, and the need for more support for aging loved ones. There’s a lot of work to be done, and I am asking for the opportunity to keep delivering results for you.

Our politics benefit from a diversity of voices, young and old, native-born and immigrant, with a variety of backgrounds and real experiences. As someone who came to this country from Mexico as a child, attended and graduated from Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery College, and the University of Maryland, and worked as a public servant at the state and county level, I’ve had the honor and privilege of building a life here in Montgomery County. But I understand what it means to navigate systems that have not always served us well. That experience drives my commitment to working for change from the inside.

This campaign is powered by neighbors, friends, and grassroots supporters who believe in effective, inclusive leadership that produces real results.

Whether you can give $25 or $250, your support helps us build the kind of neighbor-focused campaign this district deserves. One door at a time. One conversation at a time.
