Welcome! I’m Teresa Woorman, and I'm honored to serve as your District 16 Delegate in the Maryland House of Delegates.
A lifelong Democrat, immigrant, and advocate, I bring years of experience as a General Assembly staffer, community leader, and organizer to this role. I’m passionate about expanding access to healthcare, strengthening public education, protecting our democracy, and making government work better for everyone.
In my first legislative session, I introduced bills focused on healthcare transparency, protections for immigrant workers, youth sports safety, and fair insurance practices. These efforts reflect my priorities: ensuring high-quality healthcare, keeping our communities safe, supporting working families, and making Maryland more affordable and inclusive for all.
I serve on the Health and Government Operations Committee, including the Public Health & Minority Health Disparities Subcommittee and the Health Occupations & Long-Term Care Subcommittee. I am a member of the Maryland Women’s Caucus, the Maryland Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus, and the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus, where I currently serve as Vice Chair of the Legislative Review Committee.
You can get more details on my legislative work, including the bills I’ve introduced and supported, on my official General Assembly page: HERE.
I live in Bethesda with my husband Matthew, our two cats Snow White and Oscar, and our dog Gatsby. And yes, I'm THAT “childless cat lady” who went viral during the 2024 Democratic National Convention. You can read a Washington Post article about that fun experience HERE and Oprah Daily’s post about the beautiful gifts Oprah sent the cats and me HERE.
