Where I Stand on Mid-Cycle Redistricting
Many of you have emailed me recently asking what I think about the latest redistricting debate in Maryland, so I wanted to take a moment to share what’s on my mind and why this issue matters so much right now.
You may have heard that Maryland has been considering whether to respond to mid-decade congressional redistricting in Texas, California, Missouri, North Carolina, and Utah by doing our own. Governor Wes Moore and House Speaker Adrienne Jones both said they were read

Fighting for Maryland Values and Closing out Hispanic Heritage Month
It was so nice seeing so many of you at the No Kings rally at NIH this weekend. The energy, creativity, and sense of solidarity were incredible: people showing up, organizing, and supporting one another is exactly what this country is all about. And standing up for what’s right feels even more powerful when it comes with such thoughtful signs, clever costumes, and hopeful messages. If you’d like to see some of the images I shared on social media from that day, you can do so h

Supporting Our Federal Workers During the Shutdown
Once again, Republicans in Washington have let politics get in the way of governing and are trying to bring down our healthcare system with them. Wes Moore had it right when he said, “Political violence is never acceptable. Ever.”

Johns Hopkins Medicine and UnitedHealthcare Dispute Could Affect District 16 Patients
This week, Johns Hopkins Medicine, which owns Suburban Hospital here in Bethesda and Sibley Hospital just over the line in DC, sent a letter to patients and families with some very concerning news.
Beginning August 25, 2025, Johns Hopkins no longer was part of the UnitedHealthcare network (other than one facility in Florida). That means UnitedHealthcare may cover less, or even none, of the care you receive at Johns Hopkins locations. This could affect you if you have Unite

After One Year as Your Delegate, Some Takeaways from the MACo Conference & Looking Ahead.
A little more than a year ago I was sworn in by Speaker Adrienne Jones as your Delegate for District 16! I got to mark that anniversary last week by attending the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Summer Conference for the very first time.
The conference was a great chance to learn from county government partners and local leaders about the challenges and opportunities our communities face. It was especially valuable to hear how counties across Maryland are approachin
